Revitalizing Urban Life with Nature-Inspired Design by Lian ZiCheng - Daguan Design Association

The project, conceived by Lian ZiCheng and the Daguan Design Association, is a sales office that stands out for its innovative use of natural elements. The design team aimed to create a space where city dwellers could re-experience the concept of vitality. The result is a building that seems to breathe, thanks to the use of different light transmittance materials and transformed curves.

Located in Wulanchabu, Xinghe County, Inner Mongolia, the project was completed in 2018. The design team faced the challenge of combining the characteristics of the local landscape with the creation of a large-scale indoor space. They also aimed to retain the embodiment of the local ancient traditional culture. The solution was to metaphorically incorporate elements of the "yurt" into the interior design through the use of circular and curved forms.

The design not only reflects the different styles of the locality, climate, and landscape but also human culture. Through modern design techniques, the sales office was transformed into an art gallery. This transformation serves as a connection between local traditional culture and modern art, adding another layer of significance to the project.

The "Meet the Future - Library of Oxygen" has been recognized for its innovative approach to design. It was awarded Silver in the A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2019. This prestigious award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation. These designs are admired for their strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill, showcasing a remarkable level of excellence and introducing positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.

All intellectual property and copyright credits for the design belong to the Daguan Design Association. The project is a testament to the transformative power of design, offering a unique space that breathes life into the urban landscape while maintaining a strong connection with nature and local culture.
